Four people have been booked for attempting to murder a woman whom they had allegedly kept in confinement at a house in a village here.

The accused people have also been booked for opening fire and involving in brickbatting after an FIR was registered against them yesterday following the directives of a local court.

According to the complainant woman, about a dozen people had barged into her house in Jakha village under Jaithera police station limits on December 4 last year due to enmity.

They had opened fire and involved in brickbatting in which the complainant woman and her family had a narrow escape, she said in the complaint.

The woman said her family had first approached the local police station which denied lodging an FIR after which they knocked the doors of senior superintendent of police but without any results.

The police lodged an FIR into the matter yesterday after orders from a local court and have booked four people, including main accused Santosh, she said.

No arrest has been made so far, police said, adding they were probing the matter.
