4 cops get imprisonment in bribery cases

Sita Ram, a sub inspector posted in Fatehabad district's Bhattu area, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment by a local court, which also slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on him.

The SI was caught by a vigilance team while taking Rs 15,000 bribe from a man in Banawali village for not registering a case against him.

In another case, a head constable and another person were sentenced to two-year jail term and Rs 5,000 slapped on each of them by a court in Naraul for taking Rs 7,000 bribe from a person in Mundia Khera area for not involving his son in a criminal case.

 

Another head constable got one-year imprisonment and Rs 2,000 fine slapped on him in the same case.

In another case in Gurgaon, a local court sentenced a head constable to three-and-a-half years of imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 for taking Rs 2,000 bribe from a youth for making a fake vehicle-related report.
