Four policemen, including an inspector, of the Mehrauli police station here were taken off duty and sent to the police line today for failing to handle a protest properly.

Residents staged a protest outside the police station today over a clash yesterday.

The protest led to traffic snarls in the area.

Last evening, a clash happened between two groups of youths belonging to different communities in a park near Islam Colony in Mehrauli area.

The groups of youths were playing in the park, when a quarrel broke out between them over some petty issue and soon it turned violent.

More people from both the communities joined the clash. Locals pacified the youths and police were informed.

Vijay Pal Singh, whose son was injured in the clash, reached the Mehrauli police station and demanded action against Naseer and several others people accusing them of attacking his son.

On a complaint by Vijay Pal, an FIR was lodged, police said.

However, a group of people from the opposite group also gave a police complaint against Vijay Pal's son for hitting a youth, who received injuries in his ear.

Police said that they were examining the complaints.
