Four people, including a minor girl, were killed on the spot while 14 others were seriously injured,when a state transport bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The accident occurred last night when the driver of the night service bus failed to negotiate a sharp curve at a spot, 45 km away from Silapathar in Assam's Dhameji district, police said here today.
The bus was on its way from Silapathar to Yingkiong in Upper Siang district via Aalo in West Siang district.
Army personnel from Likabali cantonment rushed to the spot and launched rescue operation, sources said.
The seriously injured were immediately admitted at Likabali Army hospital and shifted to Dhemaji this morning. One of the injured was later shifted to Dibrugarh in Assam, sources said.
