Seven persons at a mutt in Dulkisahi village under Harbhanga block who ate food cooked by themselves became ill this morning with symptoms of food poisoning and were taken to the Phulbani and Daspalla government hospitals, officer-in-charge, (OIC), Harbhanga police station, Abhimanyu Nayak, said.
Two of them identified as Jasobanta Pradhan and Santanu Behera were declared dead at the Dasapalla government hospital and Akhila Bindhani and Anjan Jani at the Phulbani hospital, Nayak said.
Three others were in a critical condition at Phulbani hospital, the sources said.
