4 drug peddlers held

employee were among four persons arrested allegedly with 9.5 kg opium and 270 gram heroin in separate cases of drug peddling, police said here today.

Khumba Ram (38), a former soldier who is currently in Rajasthan Excise Department, Hanuman (20) and Ajay Kaushal (44) were arrested allegedly with 9.5 kg of opium by Special Cell from Kashmere Gate 10 days ago, they said.

Ram joined Army in 1994 and after completing 15 years of his service, he took retirement. In April 2011, he got the job in Excise Department and presently he is posted at Police Station of Excise in Balotra.
 

During his posting at Excise department, police claimed, Ram came in contact with one Shanker Lal of Neemach, who is an alleged supplier of opium. He allegedly enticed Ram to join the trade.

In the second case, Raju (25) was arrested from Mangolpuri area allegedly with 270 gram heroin, police said.
