Four girls, including two minors, were today rescued from a house in the GB Road red-light area of central Delhi.

A senior police official said that a 50-year-old woman has been arrested by a joint effort of the team of Delhi police, West Bengal police and an NGO.

The woman has admitted to have confined the girls. A case of illegal confinement has been registered against her, police said.

The girls were trafficked to Delhi from south 24-parganas in West Bengal and confined in a tunnel constructed inside a room, they said.

Two of the girls rescued were minors and were abducted from Barackpur in West Bengal.

Two others were brought to the city from Mumbai by the same group of traffickers and were forced into prostitution, they said.

The policemen have been keeping a check on the traffickers after the minor child went missing from the same village near Barackpur and trailed them all the way to Delhi, police said.

The official said that they were brought to the city on the pretext of a job and sold for Rs 10,000 to the owner of the house.
