Four persons who stole around 10 kg of gold valued at about Rs 3 crore from the local bullion market last week have been arrested in West Bengal and Punjab, police said today.

Around 760 gram of the stolen gold has been recovered from them, Satnam Singh, in-charge of police station in the bullion market, told PTI.

Among the four, one Sandeep was nabbed from West Bengal's Midnapur district, while the others - Vishwajeet, Vishwanath and Bachu - were apprehended from Ludhiana in Punjab, he said.

Sandeep had around 260 gm gold with him at the time of his arrest, while 500 gm gold was seized from the trio, Singh said.

All four worked in a jewellery unit owned by businessman Varun Mohite and they escaped with around 10 kg of gold, estimated at about Rs 3 crore, on June 26, police said.
