4 held on charge of poaching wild boars

Four persons were today arrested for allegedly poaching wild boars, protected under the Wildlife Act, at a village near hilly Kodaikanal in the district, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, forest department officials nabbed the four who allegedly used an explosive mine trap to poach the wild boars at Kundupatti.

They had hunted one or two boars using the trap, police said adding further investigation was on.
