At least four people were injured in brick-batting during a Barawafat procession in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district this morning, the police said here.
The incident took place after members of a community in Gurugutha village lodged a protest alleging that the procession had deviated from its route. This led to brick- batting between two groups, they said.
Two people from each of the groups were injured and about five to six roadside kiosks were damaged, the police said.
Following the incident, senior officials rushed to the site and ensured peaceful passage of the procession, they said.
