4 killed, 12 injured in truck-van collision

Four persons were killed and 12 injured when a speeding truck today hit a van on the outskirts of Godavarikhani town, around 75 km from here, police said.

"A truck moving from Mancherial to Godavarikhani collided with a van coming in from the opposite direction on Ganganagar bridge about 8 pm," Traffic Circle Inspector S Vijayakumar said.

Four persons - identified as B Kumar, B Anil, M Ailaiah and Chinna - travelling in the van died on the spot, he said. The dead belonged to Mogullapalli village of Warangal district.

12 others, including the van driver, sustained injuries and were shifted to Godavarikhani area hospital.
 

A case has been registered and further investigation is on, he added.
