4 killed, 13 injured in road accident in Punjab

Four persons were killed and 13 injured when their jeep collided head-on with a truck here.

"The victims were returning from Dera Beas near Amritsar when their jeep collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction on Dharamkot Jalandhar national highway last night," a police spokesman said today.

Police said the victims, three of whom were women, hailed from village Pakho in Barnala district.

The 13 injured have been rushed to the Civil Hospital at Moga, police said adding that the condition of two of them was stated to be serious.

The identities of the victims were being ascertained, they said.
