Four persons were killed and two others injured when their jeep overturned after it rammed into a tree on Shahdol-Amarkantak road, police said today.
The mishap took place late last night at about 18 kms from the district headquarters when the victims, after completing a work of a private telecom company at Amarkantak, were returning to Shahdol, Additional Superintendent of Police Durgesh Kumar Rathore said.
The deceased were identified as Rinkesh Gupta (30), Shivcharan Choudhary (40), Tulsi Singh (40) and Tejbhan Dwivedi (38), he said.
The jeep driver fled from the spot in an injured condition, while another person hurt in the mishap was referred to Jabalpur for treatment, he added.
