Altogether four persons, including two minor girls, were killed and two others critically injured at Kakaya village in lower Assam's Nalbari district this evening when a speeding car ran over some people sitting along the road, the police said.
The car first hit a bicyclist and after losing control, ran over those sitting along the road at Kakaya village within the limits of Belsore Police Station, the police said.
The deceased have been identified as Bharat Thakuria(65), Nirala Deka (55), two minor girls Dikshita Deka (5) and Ankita Deka (6), they said.

The two critically injured, 28-year-old Swarnalata Deka and 4-year-old Mridusmita Deka, were initially admitted to Nalbari Swahid Mukunda Kakati Civil hospital, but were later referred to Gauhati Medical College Hospital, the police said.
The driver of the car, Raju Deka, was also injured when irate local residents attacked him before setting his vehicle ablaze, a senior police officer said adding, a case has been registered.
