At least four persons were killed and 20 others injured today in an accident in Assam's Sonitpur district.
According to police, a truck and a light commercial passenger vehicle collided head on early this morning at Borgang area here.
The victims in both the vehicles were returning from cultural functions.
Four passengers of the light commercial vehicle died on the spot, police said adding, two of them have been identified as Keshab Tanti and Parasuram Gowala, while the other two were suspected to be the driver and cleaner of the vehicle.
Police said 14 passengers were admitted to the Catholic Hospital in Borgang, four at Kanaklata Civil Hospital in Tezpur and two were referred to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
