4 killed, 6 injured in Meghalaya accident

Four persons, including three women, were killed and six others were injured when the taxi they were travelling in was hit by a truck in Meghalayas Ri-Bhoi district today, police said.

The accident took place at around 8 am at Mawpun village near Umroi on the Shillong By-pass, they said.

"We have recovered the bodies of four persons from the accident site. Both the vehicles have been seized," a senior district police officer told PTI.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be known, they said.
