4 killed, 7 injured in fire-cracker explosion in UP

Four people, including a seven-year old child, were killed and seven others injured after flammable materials stocked in a house for manufacturing fire-crackers exploded at a village in Dhammaur area of this district today.

The explosion took place in the house of a licensed fire-cracker maker, Mujju, in Jaitapur village, killing three youths -- Islam (20), Chand Babu (18) and Ajay Bhim (18) on the spot, police said.

The seven-year old child, Munnawar, died later in the district hospital, police said.

The injured have been admitted to Lucknow Medical College Hospital and there condition is stated to be serious, police added.
