4 killed, 8 injured in road mishap

Four persons, including three women, were killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between a car and a bus near Banur in Mohali district today.

The incident occurred at Motamajra village when the car collided head-on with the Punjab state-run bus which was on its way to Patiala from Mohali, police said, adding, the deceased had taken a lift from the car's driver.

The deceased have been identified as Haryana's Pipli resident Indro Devi (53), and her daughter Kiran Bala (24), Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ashok Kumar (54) posted at Karnal and his wife Sarla Devi (50), police said.
 

Car driver Dev Raj and his four-year-old grandson Viren, who were seriously injured, were admitted to a hospital.

Besides, six passengers of the bus also received minor injuries in the mishap, police said.
