4 killed, five injured in road accident in Ramban

Four persons were killed and five others injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

The SUV, which was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, was hit by a boulder, skidded off the road and fell into the gorge at Digdol in the Ramban district, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Randeep Kumar said.

He said that three persons, including a woman, died on the spot and one passenger succumbed to his injuries at district hospital Ramban.

Army, police and locals rushed to the accident site and evacuated the dead and injured and shifted them to hospital.
 

Five passengers, including two minors, were injured and were admitted in district hospital for treatment, he said.
