4 killed in China mudslides

At least four people have been killed after a mudslide hit west China's Sichuan Province.

According to local authorities, the mudflow engulfed Majingzi town of mountainous Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture yesterday which caused the deaths.

Another nine people were injured. Rescuers are still searching for four missing people.

Torrential rains hit the region yesterday.

In the evening, a hailstone storm lasting for half an hour caused damages in 8,300 households in 12 townships in the prefecture.
