Four persons, including two home
guards, were killed as a truck overturned on a vehicle in Bihar's Gaya district, officials said on Friday.
The incident happened on Gaya-Panchanpur Road near Dariyapur village in the Panchanpur police station area on Thursday night.
The truck overturned on the escort vehicle of the mines department which was patrolling the area, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra said.
The deceased have been identified as Bhola Yadav (56) and Dashrath Yadav (55), both home guards; Vinod Sharma (55) who is a Special Auxiliary Police personnel, and Chandan Kumar (20).
The driver of the truck managed to flee after the incident, he said.
Deputy Inspector General (Homeguard) Pankaj Kumar said Rs 4 lakh will be given as exgratia and other benefits to each of the two home guards' families.
