Four persons were killed and another was injured today when their car overturned and fell into a pit near here.
The mishap took place in the wee hours on the National Highway linking Vijayawada to Hyderabad at Madhavaram, Kodad (rural) Circle Inspector Madhusudan Reddy said.
The victims, who hailed from Ghatkeshwar in Hyderabad, were returning to Hyderabad after attending an event in Vijayawada, he added.
While three persons died on the spot, 2 others sustained injuries. One of them succumbed to injuries during treatment, he said, adding, the injured is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
