Four labourers were killed and another was critically injured when an overhead water tank collapsed on them near a construction site here, police said today.
Gurgaon Police Commissioner Alok Mittal said that "the incident took place last night when around 10 labourers were taking bath under a huge water tank near a construction site of the DLF Group at Sector 90".
While three labourers died on the spot, and two injured were rushed to a hospital. One succumbed to his injuries at the hospital later, Mittal said.
Police have lodged an FIR against the contractor of the site and a hunt is on to nab him.
Gurgaon civil administration officials also reached the site and assured the relatives of the victims that compensations would be given to the kin of the deceased.
