Four members of an inter-state gang involved in stealing luxury cars were arrested today near Chhata Shergarh area in Mathura district, police said.

The four were arrested before they could strike a deal for the cars they had stolen, they said.

The leader of the 'Tatlu' gang was among those arrested. Any information leading to his arrest carried a reward of Rs 12,000.

The police acted on a tip-off, but one of the members of the gang managed to flee, said SP, rural, Aditya Kumar Shukla.

Two stolen luxury cars have been recovered, he said, adding that two country-made pistols and two knives were also seized from the robbers.

Wanted in more than half-a-dozen cases of loot, the gang's leader was on the run since January 2017.
