Four members of an alleged gang of contract killers were arrested near Brij Vasundhara at Parikrama Marg in Goverdhan area here, police said today.
Gang leader Om Prakash Chaudhary alias Om Chaudhary along with shooter Dhruv Chaudhary alias Dhurva, Madan Gopal Thakur and his cousin Vijai Singh Thakur tried to flee under the cover of indiscriminate firing when police stopped their vehicle last night, SSP Mohit Gupta said, adding police managed to nab them later.
One XUV car, three CMP 315 bore, one CMP 12 bore, four kg intoxicatingpowder (brown sugar) and Rs 1.5 lakh were seized from their possession, he said.
Police said they were hired by Vijai Singh for Rs 10 lakh to allegedly kill his cousin over some land dispute.
