4 of family killed as car plunges into road-side well

Four persons of a family, including two women, were today killed and another injured when their car plunged into a road-side well in Telangana's Jagtial district, police said.

The mishap occurred around 3.30 PM at Nallagonda village under Kodimial police limits, about 40 km from here, Mallial Circle Inspector Krupakar said.

Five persons of a family from the Nayeem Nagar locality in Warangal district visited the Vemulawada temple town. They were on their way to Kondagattu village to visit a temple, said the officer.

"When their car reached the outskirts of Nallagonda village, it plunged into a road-side well. Four persons were killed on the spot," Krupakar said.
 

The deceased were identified as Kannam Ramaswamy(65), Sharada Devi(56), Kumaraswamy (45) and Subhasini(40). All the four bodies were fished out and sent for post mortem, said the police official.

The injured is being treated at a local hospital, Krupakar said, adding a probe was underway.
