The Army has apprehended four overground workers of the separatist outfit NDFB (Songbijit) in Baksa and Chirang districts of Assam for alleged possession and supply of arms and ammunition, a defence spokesman said.
Troops of Red Horns Division and Baksa district police personnel carried out a two-day long operation from Tuesday to track down the suspects, the spokesman said.
At a mobile check-post, three people travelling in a vehicle were apprehended on Tuesday. A .303 rifle, nine live rounds and four mobile phones were seized from them, he said.
Following their interrogation, their accomplice was arrested in Chirang district. An AK-56 assault rifle and a US-made M2 carbine were seized from him.
