4 Pak militants surrender in Balochistan

A top commander of a banned outfit and three other militants surrendered to security forces in Pakistan's troubled Balochistan province today, officials said.

Tota Khan Bugti who led a militant outfit laid down his weapons along with the three others in the Sui Gas area.

Bugti was leading the fight against security forces in the Sui, Frontier Corps spokesman Khan Wasey said.

The militants handed over 4 SMGs, 20 SMG magazines, a satellite phone and other equipment to security forces.

The Balochistan government recently announced an amnesty for Baloch youth who surrender their weapons and return to a peaceful life.
 

A government official said since the amnesty was announced nearly a 100 militants from various organisations have laid down their weapons and surrendered to security forces.

The government has also announced a compensation policy for those who lay down their weapons and return to a normal life, he said.
