Rajasthan government today granted 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) to the state government employees with retrospective effect from January 1.
According to the government order, the hike will benefit nearly 8 lakh employees and 3.50 lakh pensioners.
Arrears of the allowance till March 31, 2017 will be deposited in GPF accounts of the employees, it said.
The decision to revise DA from 132 per cent to 136 per cent will put an additional burden of nearly Rs 800 crore on the state exchequer in current financial year, the order said.
