4 persons killed, 1 injured in collision between two vehicles

Four persons died in a collision between a SUV (sport utility vechicle) and a car near Sudollapur in Madhubani district, a police officer said.

The four, all occupants of the SUV, were identified as Archana Devi (33) and her daughter Anjali Kumari (11), Bulan Jha (41) and Sajjan Jha (32), Prasad said.

Bhulan Jha's son Guddu Kumar was undergoing treatment at the DMCH, the SHO said.

In the second mishap, five persons died and 26 others were hurt when a bus overturned on NH-30 near Asni village in Bhojpur district, police sources said.

The mishap took place when the driver tried to avoid running over cattle and in the process lost control, the sources said.

 

The bus was going from Ara to Maliabagh in the district.

The five were identified as Chhotu Singh (18), Bhanwar (20), Sukesh Chaudhary (20), Umesh Singh (15) and one unidentified person.

Twenty-six persons suffered injury in the incident.
