4 policemen injured in clash with pilgrims

The police said the policemen were injured when pilgrims assaulted them as they tried to maintain a queue of devotees to pay respect to Baba Loknath at his birthplace on birthday.

The pilgrims were injured when the police chased a group of devotees with lathis and some of them fell on the ground during commotion, sources said.

The police said the devotees of Baba Loknath, an eithteenth century Hindu saint, also damaged four police vans parked near the temple.
