Five persons impersonating as Income Tax officers were arrested from Hesalbil village under Potka police station of East Singhbhum district today, the police said.
The arrested persons in two vehicles with yellow beacon lights arrived in the house of a school teacher and asked for some documents, Officer In-charge of the police station, Arvind Kumar Yadav, said.
The teacher informed the police suspecting the persons to be fake, who were all arrested, Yadav said adding the vehicles were also impounded.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ved Prakash, Ramkrishan Mohan, Manish Kumar, Anil Pratap and Md Aftab Alam, all resident of Jugsalai and Golpahari locality here, Yadav said.
Further investigation was on, he added.
