Four railway employees have been booked for allegedly assaulting, robbing cash and forcing out from a train some labourers travelling with valid tickets in Bihar's Katihar district, a police officer said today.

The members of the escort team robbed Rs 15,000 and other belongings of about 18 labourers travelling with valid tickets in Dhanpur-bound Capital Express last night, Superintendent of Police (Railway) Jitendra Mishra said.

According to the FIR lodged by the labourers, the railway employees assaulted them and robbed them before forcing them out of the train near Kursela station, telling them that their tickets were fake, he said.

The aggrieved labourers lodged an FIR in the Katihar railway police station against four members of the escort party, comprising an additional sub-inspector and three railway police jawans, he said.

DSP (Railway) Ravish Kumar has been directed to probe the matter, Mishra said.
