4 robbers held, police crack 9 cases of burglary

Delhi Police today claimed to have solved nine cases of burglaries committed in the Lajpat Nagar area with the arrest of four alleged members of an interstate gang of robbers.

Police also recovered a large haul of laptops, mobile phones and cameras from the suspects who are alleged to have been active in various parts of south Delhi in the recent past.

The accused, identified as Behruddin, Tabrez, Yusuf and Salik, are said to be in the 19-21 age group and hail from Araria district of Bihar.

"Acting on a tip-off, Behruddin was arrested from Jal Vihar on Wednesday. Following sustained interrogation, he named six others, four of whom were subsequently arrested and a huge haul of electronic gadgets and branded clothes recovered from their possession," police said.
 

A search is on for the remaining two accomplices, police said, adding that the antecedents of the arrested accused are being verified and some more cases are likely to be worked out.
