4 smugglers arrested with 16 kg Heroin

Four drug smugglers were today arrested by police with 16 kilogram of heroin from near Kapurthala chowk in Punjab's Tarn Taran district.

ADGP (Law and Order) Dinkar Gupta, in statement, said that police on June 26 had arrested kingpin of this smuggling racket - Amandeep Singh, a resident Tarn Taran, and seized 11 Kg heroin and a mobile with Pakistani SIM card.

On furtherance of probe, police intercepted and arrested Hardeep Singh alias Perry of Amritsar, Heera Singh, Gurbinder Singh alias Binder and Buta Singh of Tarn Taran, Gupta said.

He said that police recovered 16 Kg heroin and one Chinese .30 Pistol from their possession. The drug was being smuggled from Pakistan.
