Four smugglers were today arrested with large quantity of liquor worth Rs 2 lakh in Sarnath police station area from different districts of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The Crime Branch along with the intelligence wing and the local police team seized nearly 1880 liquor bottles that were being carried in a jeep to be illegally supplied at various placesin Varanasi, said SSP Nitin Tiwari.
The accused have been identified as Anil Giri, Sanjeev Kumar and Ashish Mishra all three native ofVaranasi and Pravesh Kumar Singh, hailing from Jaunpur district, he said.

The liquor, packed in 40 cartons, had the label of Madhya Pradesh on it, he said, adding the Bolero jeep has also been seized and four mobiles handsets have been confiscated from them.
The Crime Branch has been given a cash reward ofRs 5,000 for seizing liquor and arresting four men, he said.
