Four personnel of Jammu and Kashmir traffic police have been suspended after a youth died and another was seriously injured when they fell from a motorbike during an attempt by the former to stop them.
According to sources, in the incident which took place in Jammu yesterday, the four traffic cops tried to stop a motorcycle at a traffic check point by pulling the rider by his shoulder, due to which he lost balance and fell.
"The traffic cops caught the shoulder of the rider, identified as Vishal Wanchoo, due to which he lost balance and fell on the road.

"The pillion rider, identified as Sidharth Mattoo, died on the spot," a source said, adding that Wanchoo was seriously injured.
A senior police officer said today that the four traffic police personnel, including an inspector, have been suspended while an inquiry has been initiated into the incident.
The cops have been identified as Inspector Kulbir Singh and constables Mushtaq Ahmed, Parvinder Kumar and Girdhari Lal.
Vishal, a classmate of Sidharth's at the same college, is fighting for his life at the emergency ward of the Government Medical College Hospital.
A case under Section 304-A of CrPC has been registered in the matter with Jammu SSP Uttam Chand saying that "an investigation is on into the case". The four traffic cops were today brought to Pucca Dunga police station for questioning.
