Four undertrials escaped from a temporary jail set up in judicial complex here today forcing the administration to announce an alert.
The undertrials, brought from Faridkot central jail, were kept in a temporary jail before their appearances in the respective courts in different cases, police said.
They have been identified as Kuljinder Singh and Kulwinder Singh facing trials under the NDPS act, Lachhman Dass arrested in a theft case and Kirpal Singh facing murder charges.

Immediately all the senior police officers rushed to the spot and sounded an alert by laying the nakas and the adjoining districts were also alerted.
