A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in the Loni area here this morning, police said.
The accused, identified as one Sajid, has been arrested and a case registered against him based on a complaint filed by the girl's parents, police said.
According to police, the girl was playing outside her house in the morning when, "Sajid took her to a vacant plot and raped her. The girl's screams brought some locals to her rescue, seeing whom, Sajid tried to flee. But they managed to nab him."
The girl has been sent for a medical examination as further inquiries continue in the case, police added.
