In separate incidents, at least four youngsters got drowned and two others went missing while having bath in Narmada canal and Sabarmati river on the outskirts of the city today.
Ahmedabad fire brigade received several distress calls informing them about people drowning in the canal and river, who ventured into deep waters to take bath after playing Holi, known as 'Dhuleti' here.
In one such rescue operation in the evening, firemen fished out bodies of three youngsters from the Narmada canal near Vaishnodevi circle here.

"We learnt that all of them went into the canal to have bath after enjoying Dhuleti during the day. However, when they started drowning, others who were present there, called us for rescue. After hours of the search operation, we fished out their bodies," city fire control room officer Pravin Pandya said.
In another incident, one more youngster drowned while taking bath in that canal passing from Kubereshwar Mahadev temple at Nana Chiloda village near the city. He was identified as Akash Patel (20), a resident of India Colony in Bapunagar.
In the evening, the fire brigade received two more calls informing that youths have drowned, said Pandya.
"One person went missing after jumping into the canal from the same spot, while another went missing while having bath in Sabarmati river near Bhat village near the city. We have assigned three rescue teams, but the victims are yet to be found," said Pandya.
