Jammu and Kashmir police today promoted over 40 personnel, including 27 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), to the next rank.
The promotion of 27 ASIs to the rank of Sub-Inspectors and 16 Head Constables to the rank of ASIs in the Armed wing were approved by the Departmental Promotion committee which met under the chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police S M Sahai here, a police spokesman said.
The committee also granted in-situ promotions or grade placements in favour of 121 followers of Jammu and Kashmir Armed police, he said.
