400 kg of silver seized near Sangam Jagarlamudi village

The police seized 400 kg of silver from a trader at Sangam Jagarlamudi village while checking vehicles on Wednesday, police sources said here today.

Tenali Rural sub-inspector K Venkata Rao said that while checking vehicles at a police checkpost near Sangam Jagarlamudi, a vehicle carrying the silver from Hyderabad to Tenali was found.

Those in the vehicle failed to produce proper documents and the vehicle was taken to the Tenali police station, he said.

Usually, traders transport silver from various places of the country to Tenali, where silver ornaments and other household items are made.
