A group of 41 Bangladeshis, including eight women and six children, were today arrested by the police from Howrah district for staying in India without valid documents.
Acting on a tip-off that some illegal Bangladeshi migrants are staying there, police arrested all 41 of them from a house in Uluberia as they failed to produce valid documents.
The owner of the house, however, is missing, police said.
Police suspect that the Bangladeshis were trafficked from the neighbouring country to West Bengal.
