41 projects cleared by promotion board to be commissioned soon

Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said that total 41 projects out of 134 sanctioned by the Goa Investment Promotion Board (GIPB) would be commissioned in next few days.

"During last two years we have formed investment promotion board which has been working towards creating more jobs. We have sanctioned 134 projects in last two years with employment generation capability of23,384 jobs," Parsekar said at the launch of 'Yuva Sanchar Yojana', the scheme which provides limited free talktime and data for youth between 16-30 years.

"Out of 134 projects, 16 are completed, of which four have already started. Rest are waiting to be inaugurated. They would be commissioned in next few days. In addition, 25 are in pipeline, total 41 projects will be commissioned," the chief minister said.
 

Parsekar said that the state government's proposal of Electronic City has received approval from the union government.

"The centre which was initially suppose to fund Rs 50 crore has now agreed to sanction Rs 75 crore. We will get the official letter in another couple of days," he added.

The chief minister also said BJP-led state government is sensitive towards the youth. "In last two years, the state has taken steps like electronic city to create job avenues for the Information Technology literate youth," he added.
