42 candidates file papers for municipal polls

A total of 42 candidates today filed their nomination papers on the second day today for the municipal elections in Haryana scheduled to be held on June 2.

A release quoting State Election Commissioner Dharam Vir said 30 nominations for municipal corporations and 12 for municipal committees were received by the concerned returning officers.

Three candidates filed their papers for Ambala, nine each for Hisar and Karnal, one for Panchkula, six for Panipat and two for Yamunanagar municipal corporations.

Three candidates filed their nomination papers for Farukh Nagar and nine for Kalanaur municipal committees, it said.

Polling will be held on June 2 for Ambala, Panchkula, Karnal, Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak and Yamuna Nagar municipal corporations and Farukh Nagar (Gurgaon) and Kalanaur (Rohtak) municipal committees.
