42-yr-old gangman run over by train

A 42-year-old railway employee was run over by a train near Mauli village railway crossing on Phagwara-Ludhiana rail section, police said today.

The incident took place when the victim identified as Partap Lal was crossing the railway track, unmindful of the approaching train, they said.

His body was found near the track yesterday, police said.

Partap, who hailed from Khokala village in Rajasthan, was a railway gangman living in Mauli railway quarters, they said.
