A 42-year-old Russian paraglider was today killed when his glider crashed shortly after taking flight from Prashar in Padhar area of Mandi district, police said.
Nikolay Udin's glider crashed in Ghoghadhar mountain ranges after getting trapped in transmission lines, and fell into a deep gorge near Garlog village, they said.
"Udin was with five other gliders when he took flight. However, his glider was trapped in transmission lines and crashed," said SP Mandi PS Thakur.

"By the time the other gliders and police could reach him, he was already dead," he added.
The six paragliders had taken flight from Bir-Billing in Kangra to Prashar yesterday and were returning to Bir after a night halt.
The Embassy concerned and the Ministry of External Affairs have been informed about the incident and further investigations is in progress, police said.
