Over 42,000 candidates today appeared in written tests at 75 examination centres across the state for the position of 4,000 constables in Jammu and Kashmir police.
The recruitment of 4,000 constables which was initiated in 2015 has passed through various stages, including outdoor tests, after which 42,000 candidates were shortlisted.
Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar inspected various examination centres in the state and took stock of the arrangements put in place for transparent recruitment.
"CCTV cameras were installed at all the examination centres to make the process more transparent. Videography of all the centres was also made to avoid any misconduct during the examination," a spokesperson said.
