A total of 43 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured in Haryana as grain markets witnessed heavy crop arrivals in the state.
"A total 43,01,235 tonnes of wheat in the mandis of Haryana has arrived since the beginning of the procurement season while 43,00,985 tonnes of wheat has been procured by the government procurement agencies," a spokesman of the food and supplies department said.
He said while 12,03,953 tonnes of wheat has been procured by the food and supplies department, Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd has procured 14,40,734 tonnes of wheat.
Food Corporation of India has purchased 4,78,562 tonnes of wheat, the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 3,66,297 tonnes, and the Haryana Warehousing Corporation has procured 8,11,439 tonnes of wheat. Apart from this, 250 tonnes of wheat has been purchased by the traders, he added.
