Delhi Police has promoted over 4,000 of its junior rank perosnnel ranging from constables to inspectors in the current year.
The Delhi Police Headquarters in the first half of the current year has issued promotions in almost all the ranks whichwill boost the morale and professional standard of the police force, said Joint CP (PHQ) Praveer Ranjan.
There has been stagnation in the lower ranks of police personnel for sometime and police constables, who had put in 27-28 years of service, had not got the opportunity to get their promotion to the rank of Head Constable.

Similarly, there was some stagnation in the other ranks as well.
"This was adversely affecting the morale of the police force," Ranjan said.
A total 4332 personnel of Delhi Police have been accorded promotion invarious ranks.
As many as 2020 constables have been elevated as head constables while 810 head constables have been promoted as ASIs, 1450 ASIs have been promoted as SIs, 50 SIs have been promoted as Inspectors and two inspectors have become ACPs.
